The house was amazing! It had everything we needed for a fantastic week! Hopefully will be going back soon!
Samantha
Modern with a rustic feel. Warm, comfortable and clean. Everything you can think you will need. Views to die for. We hired a private chef and there was so much counter space and a lovely dining table to serve on. Overall a perfect stay
Beautiful and extremely comfortable accommodation with everything at your disposal. Great location for walking, and close to Sedbergh with excellent shops and pubs. Would highly recommend.
Good to see that youd taken previous feedback on board regarding the wall at the top of the track as this is now given as a caution on booking information. Shame we didnt have this on our first visit as the repairs to our car were almost as much as the holiday itself. The property itself is perfect however and left us wanting for nothing.
Wow what an amazing property! We had a fantastic week at Hollowgill barn. Lovely walks on your doorstep and plenty of things to do a bit further afield too! The property itself was beautiful, clean and so well thought about facilities were amazing and brilliant quality and there wasnt anything lacking! We especially enjoyed the brilliant coffee machine, games room and hot tub all appreciated after long days out exploring! Very safe for our furry friend too he loved having some space to roam! We were very sad to leave but hope to be back thanks so much for having us!
Tracey
Great stay. The barn is big and beautiful. Has everything you need in the kitchen and the games room is a great bonus. Thank you.
A beautiful property with excellent facilities, thank you! Our four legged friend loved exploring the enclosed garden, as did we with a game of cricket! High standard of cleanliness throughout the property. We would definitely return and loved our stay.
The hallowgill barn was a beautiful place in the perfect location! The views from the barn was amazing! Especially enjoyed the hot tub and games room came in handy on the rainy days! The only fault we could all think of was the drive down to the barn from the main road, it was very uneven and had big rocks in the grass we was worried it would damage the bottom of our cars also when it was a cold night and we wanted a little fire but some of the wood was rotten and was only 6 logs for 4 nights. Also the coffee beans had finished after only making two hot drinks but apart from that enjoyed every minute! Would definitely like to book again or recommend it to others!
Christopher
Amazing place to stay, modern living in an age gone by setting. So quiet but only a 10 minute drive in to Sedbergh village with it's lovely shops. We would recommend a visit to The Dalesman Inn, great food and drink in lovely surroundings. Would definitely rebook
Our second holiday at the barn. We loved it again, so comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed, the addition of the games room this time was fantastic and the extra shower room and boot room for all the messy footwear and wet clothes. We so love the location, being able to walk & run directly from the barn is superb, and its so quiet and peaceful. Also not too far by car to get to the lakes for a bit of water sports too.
Literally no faults at the barn. Everything had been thought of, and more! I took a slow cooker with me only to find there was one already there as well as a bread maker that I didnt have chance to use. We wanted for nothing. The location was spectacular and it was a joy to have stunning walks right on the door step. Such an inviting place to stay for a week that flew by.
We had a wonderful stay. Literally the best UK stay that we've done. The barn was so beautifully finished with no corners having been cut. All excellent quality furniture and everything that you could possibly need in the kitchen. A cupboard full of board games, outdoor games, books to read. It was so comfortable with lots of blankets to use too. It was so clean and all of the bedding, towels, blankets etc smelt of lovely fresh washing. Have already recommended it to everyone I know and we will definitely be back.
Perfect week in stunning surroundings! This is our 2nd visit, the 3rd is booked and we are planning a 4th for next year. Would highly recommend this property, it has everything you could ever need and then some.

We had a fantastic stay at Hollowgill Barn. It is in a lovely area accessible to lovely walks. The accommodation is lovely & the hot tub is a lovely addition to be able to relax in too. The games room also provides extra things to do. Everything was perfect & we will be booking to stay again.
We had the pleasure of staying Hollowgill Barn. The pictures do not do it justice, it is an absolutely incredible barn on such beautiful land. It is not mentioned how enclosed the garden is but it is properly secure. It sits on around 1 acre of gorgeous hillside land and it has secure new fences and chicken wire all around. This was perfect for our dog as he had the whole place to explore. We loved watching the sheep every day and having dips in the hot tub with the gorgeous views. The barn has been converted to such a high standard and the addition of the games room and lovely front room meant we were always happy there no matter the weather. Thank you.
Sandra
We enjoyed our stay over Christmas but would have liked to be able to turn the heating temperature up or down ourselves. We would have stayed in the hot tub longer if it was warmer but it cooled down very quickly. We had to clean the drawers and hoover the main bedroom as it was dirtyhairy. We had to wash the bedding in the main bedroom as it smelt stalesmokey. The main bedroom quilt has a stain of some kind on it. The wardrobe downstairs in the hallway had a drawer which was full of slippersflip flopsclothing so was not able to use it. When we cleaned the main room floor we found under the table was very dirty and under the settee when we angled it for watching tv. The hoover did not keep its charge to be able to hoover one room, we had to charge it continuously which is not good enough when taking pets or in general. We still enjoyed our stay and it is in a lovely setting but just wanted to offer constructive advice.

The place is amazing, we go three times a year to cottages and this one beats them all by far on every aspect. We will be returning and would love to know when games room is completed so we can stay at that time. There is nothing bad about our stay only a few suggestions.. 1. The wine cooler fridge was not switched on and we could not see how to do that. 2. We also could not find how to switch the big outside light on at hot tub. 3. The hit tub temp was always 38 when we got in, would be nice a little hitter to be set at 40. 4. Bedding had to be removed and placed in blue IKEA bags, but we could not find these anywhere. These are minor suggestions, and would not stop us returning and we recommend the cottage 100 to our friends. Beautiful place, area and facilities. Thank you.
Beautiful barn with excellent quality facilities our second visit will be back
Beautiful barn in a very secluded location excellent.

The barn is very well equipped with everything you could need. The owners were extremely helpful with tips about the entrance. Informing us when there was a unexpected power cut and keeping us updated on when power was likely to be returned. The barn is extremely clean and comfortable with good laundry facilities. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

We had a lovely week away staying at Hollowgill Barn, well equipped and very comfortable, everything we needed, and the Hot tub was a bonus, in it every night. The area where the barn sits is beautiful and the river just down the track was a win for our dogs, also the enclosed garden, no escapes. Would recommend this accomodation to anyone. Fantastic.
Annette
It is very difficult to share feedback, only because we don't want to share such a wonderful property & location with too many others! . The Barn has been lovingly restored to the highest possible standard. From the kitchen utensils to all furnishings. The huge garden area backing on to some wonderful walking routes allowed our young spaniel to roam in safety. Not usually a fan of such things, the hot tub also tempted us when set in such perfect surroundings. In 30 years of cottage hire we've only previously been back somewhere once. The location is idyllic. This one made a 6 hour drive well worth it, we will be returning. Got to be 6 stars too.
Debbie
We had had a great time it was a very relaxing 4 days we had Everything we needed and more the property was amazing. Are dog Ruby had the time of her life in the safe space that was provided for her so thank you for sharing your lovely home we have made happy memories.
Lovely scenic, peaceful setting with easy access to local walks. The barn is spacious and well equipped, we really enjoyed our week and hope to return. Thanks
Andrew
Lovely barn conversion in a stunning location. So many walks from the doorstep and if youre happy to do a bit of driving then the Lake District and all the Yorkshire Dales are available to explore. We had some stunning days out including Mallam Cove, Helvellyn, Windermere and Rydal Water. Hollowgill Barn is beautifully appointed with high quality fixtures and fittings. The owners have thought of just about everything needed for a stay away. We even found full laundry facilities available to us which Im not sure are publicised on the website. Would love to go back one day.
Beautiful property and we were so blessed with the weather. We went out exploring every day. It was lovely to return to the barn and chick.
We stayed 1720th March. I was contacted by the owner on our day of arrival to confirm all was ok with the accommodation. The house was fabulous, lovely and clean, welcoming and so comfortable. The heating being on in the bathrooms was nice so we always had warm towels. We were looking for a tranquil break away and we found just that. Looking to rebook later in the year to come back with the kids.
Jolanda
We spent a lovely long weekend at Hollowgill Barn in December 2022. Incredible doesn't begin to describe it. The open plan upper floor is perfect for spending time together, with no one having to seclude themselves from the rest of the group to cook. Speaking of cooking the kitchen is incredibly well stocked. Anything one could imagine needing is right there, and then some. The bedrooms are lovely, with great views out over the fields again, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the showers great. It is lovely waking up surrounded by the sheep in the fields, and you only have to step out of your door to start a great walk through the Cumbrian countryside. With Sedbergh only being a 10 minutes drive away for your shopping, you'll not want for anything. There's really we can fault about our stay at Hollowgill Barn, you definitely won't regret booking.
Rebecca
Fantastic property where everything has been considered to make it a real home from home. Kitchen is very well stocked we cooked most nights and had everything we needed. We had contact with owner over a query that they quickly resolved for us. Really lovely place to stay. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon
