Snowdrop Cottage Reviews

Samantha
Home from home. Myself and my partner had a few lovely days in snowdrop cottage for Christmas the cottage was warm and inviting with its own little Christmas tree. It had everything we needed and more.
Will be back
We had a lovely time staying here. Everything was perfect for just the 2 of us, especially the hot tub which was nice and hot. The only thing disappointing was that there was no frying pan but not a big deal.
Georgia
Lovely cottage, clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the hot tub was cold for our entire stay and we didnt have hot water on the night of arrival. Some came to look at this for us whilst we were out the following day, we manage to get one hot shower before the water went Luke warm again. Would recommend if the hot tub and hot water troubles would guaranteed to be fixed. Lovely views from the cottage too
Sophie
Stayed here from 18th21st July. Absolutely beautiful cottage, gorgeous location, very relaxing. Loved how close this cottage was to the beach. Hot tub was fab and stayed heated for a long term. Fab facilities, had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals and was just a very comfortable stay, felt like a home away from home. Super clean and just an all round perfect stay. We already cannot wait to return. The only thing I could fault was there was only 1 toilet roll left for our stay and 1 bin bag, could have done with a few more of these as we had to go out and buy some but not a big deal at all !! Thank you for a perfect stay
We arrived at this cottage to nothing at all what is in the pictures. The cottage inside was different to pictures. And pictures of outside are manipulated to look good but in fact on main road and facing a residential house. The cottage was tidy but smelt unclean and the hot tub did not work it was barely warm. We travelled 2.5 hours to this cottage and left straight away. We didnt wish to stay. Date 210423
The property was immaculate everything you needed plus more loved the hot tub ... The property was immaculate everything you needed plus more loved the hot tub very relaxing great starting point to explore the area and so quite
Jonathan
Thank you and would definitely recommend
Excellent all round. Friendly and helpful staff can come anytime in day which will make you jump if sat in spa. Some noise from appt above. Definitely consider returning.
Stuart
Nice and clean with a few tired bits in places but no show stoppers. Tv's may be flat screen but very old and no smart TV option. Grout on patio and in shower really poor, sharp edges in places. Hot tub was great and our main reason for staying at this location. Nice place to just get away. Advice if eating out, book ahead as many places no longer accepting walk ins.
Amazing stay but does say online a short walk to farmers inn baycliffe. Its a good 5 min taxi ride and impossible to walk as no footpath. Just a 50mph road

Booked for hot tub weekend , hot tub never worked , someone came out to it but ... Booked for hot tub weekend , hot tub never worked , someone came out to it but still no joy , first night there was no hot water , sofa in living room was disgusting & very dirty
We provided feedback that the shower was running uncomfortably hot and that the temperature wasnt changing. Our bedroom tv wasnt finding any channels despite troubleshooting from ourselves and also that the kettle didnt work unless you held button down to boil water, I rang the property owner who advised they would have someone out to fix the shower 11am the following day and take a look at tv and replace kettle, 11am the following day came and no one showed up we left at 11am and left the key in the designated area so the maintenance person could gain access to the property in case they showed up later in day when we were out, upon our return that evening we learned that nothing had been done to fix any of the issues raised, had this been done then the rating would have been higher.
Cottage is perfect has everything and more for a short break. Hot tub is amazing just took 24 hours to get to temperature but once it did it stayed at that temperature. Only issue we had was from the cottage next door you can hear everything from the bedroom and I mean everything that's the only compliant we had
We visited this cottage recently for a short break. We arrived and it was 30 degrees, the heating was not needed to be on. The glasses in the cupboards were dirty and greasy, we had to was utensils and trays before being able to use them. The property was extremely difficult to relax in as we felt overwatched by the people staying next door to us, and they could see through the fences when we were both in our hot tubs. It did not feel private. Our major problem was that we had booked our dog into kennels as the cottage stated it did not allow pets. However on the second evening of our stay a couple arrived with two dogs and were there a couple of days! Not sure how this was fair? they also woke us up at 6am two mornings arguing and screaming loudly, we believe they may have known the owners as they looked to be doing work on the property too. We were not happy. We also drank water from the cottage and myself and partner became poorly we have taken images of the water! It was NOT clean, these will be sent to the owner. We had to post this feedback on here as we looked in the guest book and a lot of pages had been ripped out and only good comments were left so we presumed this would have been ignored if it was left in the book so we have added it here in the hope someone makes use of this advice. Lastly the cottage is in a lovely spot with great scenery and there is lots to do with the beach not too far away, however sadly we will not be returning.
We loved every minute of our stay. The cottage was beautiful, it was spotless and the hot tub was amazing! We loved the wet room and the rain forest shower and the water was piping hot. The amenities in the cottage we're perfect. The cottage was ideally situated for exploring near and far. We especially liked having the sheep and lambs right outside our door. Thank you for making my 50th birthday a memorable one!
Michael
A very lovely place would recommend it to anyone. Nice location and very clean, you can tell all the effort put in place when it was being built. We will definitely visit again.
Property was lovely, just as described. Very easy to find with a lovely walk to the beach just across the road. Lovely scenery and views. Had a problem with hot tub when we first arrived which was sorted out for us as quickly as possible. Host was very helpful.
Dishwasher was left full The bed was x2 single beds struggled to sleep
Absolutely amazing place and will definitely be coming back
Jennifer
We had a couple of problems, but they were seen to quickly. The thermostat in the bedroom was a bit strange , if you wanted a warm living room the bedroom was very warm.
Please change the pillows! A bit lumpy for a good night's sleep. Otherwise a very welcoming cottage and loved the hot tub
The cottage was finem however not much hot water, usually luke warm very disappointing no way to change the temperature cooker extractor fan did not work Porch internal light constantly on on a sensor nightmare NO instructions for Dishwasher , washing machine, microwave NOT ODVIOUS The main issue was our cottage snowdrop was on the end of the run of cottages, which contained the plant room, that serviced all the hot tubes and everything for the external maintenance. We have the maintenance man come out BH Monday, Wed and the Thursday to do other things to the other hot tubs, one was a temp check, NOTHING WRONG WITH OURS The maintenance guys just when to the plant room which was next to our bedroom and veranda and hot tub and just carried on there days work, we were on holiday with lazy mornings and the hot tub to use, we felt that they could have asked us if it was convenient but they didn't knock or call the door bell, we had to shut the doors and curtains to have privacy. Very rude, I appreciate that they may need to do something but they could of made themselves know rather than me finding them next to our hot tub when I went out to get in it!! overall disappointed.
Really nice place and Tim the maintenance guy was really friendly
We loved everything about the stay we had! I shall be recommending to everyone I know! What a weekend, what a place! Beautiful Hot Tub, beautiful bedroom, beautiful bathroom, beautiful kitchen, beautiful views! Thankyou for such a great stay!
Alexander
Bathroom. floor of the shower needs attention to repair loose tiles. a shelf in the bathroom would be really useful for holding toiletries. other than this all was really enjoyable. would have given 10 out of 10.
We were expected to have alot more privacy than what we had. Somebody walked in within an hour of us being there. Our so called private area 3 times people came into that area. So how is that private? People in the apartment above us were noisy and waking us up. We had to wait till they were out to use our hot tub as they was watching straight over us. Extremely disappointed as we paid alot of money for no privacy at all.
Jennifer
The cottage was lovely, very clean and lots provided. Good area, 510min drive away from the towns and days out good location very chilled. Only downside was the hot tub, couldnt get it warmed up on the first day and not all the jets worked properly in the hot tub, however managed to get the temperature working on the second day so was okay.
Jackie
There was little useful information as what to do with problems. ... but on the front of the folder good walks but little else of use was the leave time in bold letters. The location and quality of cottage was excellent, but we didnt get what we expected.... a hot tub .... more a hot bath!! Whilst your staff were lovely to speak with, there wasnt the required action. We contacted you a few times but without satisfaction. It was only luck that we were in when the indomitable Tim came on the Monday .... the problem was a current one ... the heat switch.... by Wednesday, he persevered to get us a workable system so we could enjoy the jets even though it kept switching off. Seems the issue was the owner wasnt in the country which let to your impotence!? Bottom line is if there wasnt a fully functional hot tub, we would have never booked the cottage. Oh.... but we were clear on what time we had to vacate the premises.... which was reinforced by a follow up text from Sykes !!!!
Christine
Beautiful, peaceful cottage, hot tub was amazing. Arrived after Covid lockdown when able, to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday, we were not disappointed. Three night stay, couple of small issues with cottage but they were dealt with very efficiently by Tim the maintenance man. Very clean accommodation, we will be back x
Kirsty
Lovely place!
We loved the cottage and location. The only downside was the bedroom got extremely hot at night and the heating wasnt on.
Angela
The Filter coffee machine featured in photos wasnt there. I rang and an alternative was delivered next day. We could of done with more towels than one each for five days. Very comfy bed, great views all round especially when relaxing in hot tub. Kitchen facilities were great only thing I would suggest is a pair of kitchen scissors. We had a lovely time and feel completely relaxed after our stay.
We have a fab week at this cottage! Everything was perfect.
The facilities were great and very clean. We had a lovely time the hot tub wasnt working one night but someone came the day after to fix it. Only thing that would have been nice was bed side tables as the wardrobe was a little small for 2
The hot tub wasnt set up when we arrived at the property, I tried calling up the person who looked after the accommodation four times throughout the day with no response for around six hours. The hot tub was only fixed for the last day of a three day visit. I found bugs in the bed and the facilities werent great, no salt and pepper and lack of toilet rolls.. which had been listed on the reviews previously so obviously the owners havent been checking them out.
Isobel
Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. Spotlessly clean with all the facilities you need although a bigger colander would be useful!. My only issue is that we went away in a really hot week, and the cottage retains a lot of heat making sleeping really difficult. The duvet was so big, which would be ideal in winter, but not in summer! That aside, we had a lovely break. When we had to email about an issue with the hot tub they replied instantly with instructions on how to fix it. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return!
Alanis
Its a shame that some of the facilities let it down like not having enough toilet paper or any salt and pepper or not evening having hand soap. Our stay was really good slept well. Just a note for the owners that the key we had was a bit bent so was a little tricky to open the main door. Instructions for hot tub could be clearer.
