Quirky Cottage Kemplay Foot Reviews

Emma
We loved the cottage’s prime spot for exploring the Lakes and beyond. There’s loads to do nearby-dog-friendly pubs, kids’ play areasand tasty food. The place itself is really charming-spacious, warmand comfy. The kitchen’s a bit basic but totally enough for our needs. Overall, a great stay, we’d come back!
Emily
We had such a lovely time at Quirky Cottage! The spot is fantastic for checking out the stunning nearby areas. Evenings spent curled up by the log fire were perfect, especially after relaxing in the hot tub. The place is beautifully furnished and feels really special. We definitely plan to come back and will recommend it to friends and family without hesitation!
Emma Collins
We had a really lovely time at this charming little cottage! It’s decorated beautifully and feels super homely, with everything you could need. We didn’t notice any noise from the road at alland the hot tub was private enough for us to relax fully. The place was spotless and cosy, perfect for a relaxing break. We’re already talking about coming back. Honestly, it’s the ideal spot for a peaceful getawayand we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat. Will definitely return!
Emily
We loved this charming little cottage - so cosy and well-stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect after busy days out exploring. The location is great, with all the lakes nearby within an hour’s drive. The only downside was the busy road right outside, which was a bit noisy early mornings. Still, it wouldn’t stop us from booking again - it’s a lovely spot overall!
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy little cottage. It’s full of charm and has a lovely quirky vibe that made us feel right at home. Perfectly positioned at the edge of the lakes, it made exploring really easy. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus, especially after a day out. It was just the right size for us - two adults and two older kids - and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Would definitely recommend!
Emma
We had a great stay! The noise from the road was barely noticeableand our son really enjoyed discovering the secret balcony-definitely recommend!
James
The cottage’s spot was perfect for exploring the lakesand the hot tub was a real treat after a long day of fell walking! It was spotlessand the kids loved the den. We’d definitely come back again!
Oliver
The cottage was lovely, situated in a perfect spot. We had a very relaxing timeand our dog loved the nearby walks. Parking was fine at the front, just make sure to leave enough space for others to pass by easily.
Emma
The cottage was charming with all the amenities you'd wantand the location couldn’t be better. We did encounter a hot tub problem, but the owner sorted it quickly-definitely worth staying!
Emma Carter
We loved the cottage’s look, it’s really charming. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and got plenty of use. The road was busier than we thought, but it wasn’t too bad. Sadly, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired; we had to buy our own toilet paper and basic kitchen supplies. We contacted them about these issues and the missing welcome pack, but nothing was sorted. Quite disappointing for the price!
Emma Carter
Honestly, our stay was quite a letdown. The place is right on a busy main road, so it’s super noisy with trucks and buses passing all the time. The cleanliness was pretty poor-dirty dishes in the cupboard, stained toiletand the shower was grimy. Floors looked unwashedand there was hair and marks on the bedding. No welcome pack or dog treats like they promised. The garden was overgrownand the furniture was disgusting. We tried contacting the owner, but no reply at all. Not great!
George
Great for families with teens, really appreciated the nice welcome pack. Perfect base for exploring the Lake District or taking a day trip to Edinburgh by train. Loved it!
James
The cottage was warm and cosyand the hot tub was an absolute highlight after exploring the local sights!
Emma Roberts
We left a note in the visitors book suggesting it would be better to have a tumble dryer instead of a freezer that no one uses during a holiday. We also texted about a missing item but never got a reply. The location is really nice - the waterfalls, caves, ferry ridesand views are stunning. Sadly, with just a week, we didn’t get to see everything, which was a bit disappointing but understandable.
Emma
We loved the property! It blends charming character features with modern comforts perfectly. Great spot for exploring local sights or heading into Penrith town easily.
Emma
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage, perfectly positioned for exploring the Lakes. It had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated. The kids adored the denand our two dogs felt right at home too - a great family getaway!
Emma
The cottage was really charming and surprisingly high quality. The neighbour on the left was super friendly too. Beds were so comfy, we slept like logs. The noise from the road was minimaland the location is perfect for exploring the lakes! Definitely better than we thought.
James
The cottage was stunning, super clean and had everything we needed. It’s so peaceful and chilled out, exactly what we wanted. Would happily recommend and definitely come back ourselves. Lovely stay!
Emma T.
The location is perfect for exploring the Lakes, no doubt about that. However, I wish I’d known it’s right on the A6 because traffic noise was pretty noticeable. Also, the photos make the place look a lot bigger than it actually is, which was a bit disappointing. Other guests seem happy, so maybe it’s just not for us this time.
James
We loved the charm of this old cottage, beautifully restored with matching furnishings. It’s perfectly located near the northern Lake District, ideal for walks. The road noise was a bit loud at first, but we got used to it quickly. The air conditioning was a real bonus too. Would definitely stay again!
