Rayne Cottage Reviews

Emma
We loved the cosy cottage, especially the spacious rooms and the massive kitchen. The hot tub was a real treat! We did have some water supply issues, but Andy sorted it out quickly and brought plenty of water, so it wasn’t a big deal at all.
Emma
The cottage’s spot is perfect for exploring nearby sightsand it’s super clean with comfy beds. It’s not quite 5-star or luxury, as a bit of TLC wouldn’t go amiss, especially outside though. Still, we’d stay again!
Emma
We had such a great time at this lovely place! The location is stunningand the house is well-equipped, making it feel really homely. The underfloor heating in the bedrooms was a real bonus, especially on chilly mornings. Seeing the animals around was a lovely touch too. We’re definitely planning to come back and explore more of the area!
Emily
We stayed at this cosy cottage and loved how well it was equipped and comfy. However, we did notice some dust in the bedroom, which made my husband’s asthma worse - no mattress protector either. It’s quite remote, so finding good dog walks and dog-friendly pubs was a bit tricky. Maybe we just got unlucky, but still, a nice stay overall!
James
The cottage is really charmingand the location is perfect for exploring. Loved the open-plan upstairs!
JAMES
Fantastic hosts. Lovely location. Well equipped house. Really comfortable. Easy access to The Lakes and the North Yorkshire Dales. So quiet and peaceful!
Oliver
What a lovely cottage with stunning views! The outside hot tub is just brilliant. It’s perfectly located for those gorgeous sights. The cottage felt so homely and had nearly everything we needed for a comfy stay.
Kyle
What a stunning location! The cottage is really lovely. The hot tub in the garden house was out of order, but we were relieved to find a spare on site! Thanks a lot!
Deborah
This cottage really lived up to what we were hoping for in terms of comfort and location. It’s perfect if you want to explore the lakes or the dales, honestly couldn't ask for a better spot. We were so pleased to find a place that would take more than two dogs. We would definitely recommend it!
James
We had a good stay at this property. The garden isn't very private since it’s shared with the neighbours. Access can be tricky for low or sports cars, which is something to keep in mind. On a positive note, Andy next door was really helpful with a couple of minor issues we had. The cottage was nice and clean too!
Lucy
We had a lovely stay at this comfortable cottage, which is perfectly located for exploring the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. The beds were super comfy, though we did find it a bit tricky since there wasn't a secure space for our dogs to roam freely while we relaxed on the patio.
Mark
The cottage is in a beautiful location with outstanding views! We did think some attention to cleaning would be beneficial, especially in the showers and toilet areas of the en-suite. We ended up cleaning the kitchen sink ourselves as it hadn't obviously been done. The freezer shelves were a bit of a mess, covered in old food crumbs and iced up, so we had to clean a shelf for our frozen food. Also, we couldn't find some references made in the guest information booklet to other info sources in the property, which were presumably missing.
Mark
We absolutely loved our stay at Rayne Cottage! We booked it over a year ago and were counting down the days, hoping it would be as good as it lookedand it didn’t disappoint. From the location to the spectacular views to the friendly owners, it was everything we wanted and more. We even got invited to help feed the animals on the farmand we all really enjoyed it. There are plenty of picturesque walks and places to visit within a short distance. We would recommend it to anyone! We definitely want to go again.
Linda
We absolutely loved the amazing views! The sofas and beds were super comfortable, which made our stay even better. However, we think there's some upgrading needed on a few things around the place. Also, just a heads up, the driveway is quite steep, especially if you've got a low car.
Emma
Fantastic location! The bed was so lovely, we had wonderful sleeps. Just a bit of countryside noise, but that added to the charm. We really didn't want to leave!
Sophia
We had a wonderful relaxing week with our three dogs! The cottage is perfect for both humans and pooches. We took a trip to Kendal for the weekly shop since there’s a large fridge freezer at the cottage. The beds are comfyand we actually moved to the smaller room mid-week so we could test both beds! The views from the cottage are stunning; you can see the sunrise and sunset, plus watch the sheep in the field opposite. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and we used it every day!
Emily
What a lovely spot! The views are absolutely stunning and the location is so peaceful. We found it to be very cozy and comfortable. The hot tub is just wonderful as well. There could be a bit more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning. Plus, some of the kitchen stuff has definitely seen better days. But honestly, we would go back because there are just so many good things about it!
Claire
Thank you for a lovely mini-break at Raynes Cottage. It's such a beautiful house in a stunning location. We had everything we could possibly need and more! Very clean and tidy, with lots of charming extras to make us feel at home during Christmas. Warm, cosyand with lovely views. We had a simply wonderful stay and our dogs adored the heated floor and treats! The hot tub was a real delight, a perfect way to relax and unwind. We would thoroughly recommened it!
Emily
Such a lovely place to stayand we really enjoyed the great walks with the dogs! The scenery was beautifuland it was a perfect getaway.
James
What a beautiful location in the Dales! The views are just amazing, even from the hot tub. The sofas are really comfortable for relaxing, but it would be great to have a SMART TV as a finishing touch. We loved watching the Alpacas across the road! There are so many walks in the area, which are excellent for our 4 legged friends too.
